My journey began in 2009, after starting a traditional apprenticeship in piano restoration, in Bristol. This would last 4 years, and I gained a valuable footing in the trade as a result. I worked my way through the workshop, developing skills in French polishing, key and action restoration, regulation and servicing pianos for sale, as well as longer restoration projects.

In order to become a more rounded technician, and add tuning to my skillset I gained a first class degree in piano tuning and restoration at Newark College. This is the last remaining training course for traditional aural tuning in England. While here I began setting up this business, and I set off with tuning lever in hand, building it up step by step.

I now operate full time in Bristol, and have expanded to a workshop space of my own on Stokes Croft, where I fulfil restoration projects, and servicing pianos for sale. There are many strands to the trade, and I am continually looking to develop as a technician, but tuning and restoration are at the heart of my career.
