The exchange of knowledge and ideas is valuable, and I was fortunate enough to have this extended to me through a visit to the workshop owned by David Klavins, near Budapest.

Traditional designs dominate, and for good reason. Hundreds of years of refinement have led us to this stage. However, we need not limit our imagination, particularly when addressing the age old equations of weight versus strength, volume versus clarity and subjective considerations of colour and tone.
